Resistance Art CONgress
The mission of RaCon is to inspire and strengthen The Resistance through participation in arts, crafts, and community
We congress once a month to practice the art of political resistance
What is RaCon?
Pronounced Rock On
Whether you are a creator or a spectator, showing up to be a part of your community and experience art and joy is itself a powerful act of resistance against authoritarian rule.
RaCon is a monthly gathering of liberal creatives doing what creatives do. When we take the space for art and surround ourselves with people all working towards the same goal, ideas for amazing craftivism are sure to follow! RaCon is designed to bring together people who believe in fighting for democracy while providing the time and space to take joy in art for arts sake. When these things come together, there's opportunity for great ideas in craftivism to develop.
Bring your yarn, clay, paints, scripts, beads and scrapbooks and spend a few hours every month enjoying your craft with other members of The Resistance. If you don't know what to do, you can always help make Liberal Rocks with Alex, paint along-side Rochelle, purchase a piece of unfinished pottery to paint, or just grab a coffee from the bakery next door and enjoy the company of good people. And you know we here at Liberal Rocks love our introverts - if you just want to close your eyes and listen to your headphones without anyone asking you what's for dinner or did you pay the water bill, that's cool too.
We are developing an online component to our meetings so more people to join in the fun!
